Kilt/Tartan Help

OB I just checked the Scotweb site for Shaw modern, result - Balmoral kilt 8 yard, 16oz, Lochcarron for A$420.00 - Balmoral kilt 8 yard 13oz, House of Edgar for A$500.00. Both reasonably price for such kilts

Those of us in Scotland usually wear one Clan tartan... most Scots choose to wear just the one.

What I find interesting is how often I meet Scots here, Scots with last names that have tartans attached to them, who choose to wear Spirit of Scotland, Scottish National, Saltire, or other modern generic "fashion tartans".

I do the same, more or less, and avoid the whole "clan" issue by wearing Isle of Skye. (People still come up and ask "what clan is that?")

If my last name was MacFarlane I'm pretty sure I would wear MacFarlane... specifically, red MacFarlane in Reproduction Colours by Dalgleish. It's as lovely a tartan as anyone could ask for.

A little off topic from the original post but I agree that red MacFarlane is a gorgeous tartan. It's my sister-in-law's tartan and is quite pleasing to my eye anyway.
