Strap extensions... A wee bit of help needed

Ps. The price of the kilt is under $50 so it's kinda a no brainer. Can anyone date this garment by any chance.

You're absolutely right that it is a no brainer at that price and you can still have a kiltmaker take a look and give you a price on resizing if you are not happy with the look.

I realize that I'm weighing in a bit late. If a kilt is too big, you can just move the buckles toward the center back of the kilt, and the fringe edge of the apron just covers a few of the pleats. No one notices. The opposite is not true. if a kilt is even 1/4" too small, the underapron shows, and the underapron looks really different from the pleats. So, it's really obvious that the kilt is too small. Strap extenders are a great temporary solution if you gain a bit of weight, but I wouldn't buy a kilt knowing that I would have to wear strap extenders - it will always be obvious, even from quite a distance, that the kilt is too small.

So I bought the kilt for the price of $75. I know it's an inch or so too small but for an hand made 8yrd in my families tartan seemed like a steal. Reading the above post took a bit of wind outa my sails but we will see when the extenders and kilt show up
