I looked up the FAQ for MUG. But what's sagging? And what's the matter with white hose below the knee? I must have misunderstood - they'd look pretty silly above the knee.

Its a thing certain groups of young men in the US do. This picture should explain it:

Hey Father Bill.... speaking of kilt nights, are you going to RKilts event on Saturday evening?

Chas... My fabric for my tank is on back-order and I had to return my casual P/V kilt because it was a little big, and I still have to sew the belt keepers on my xkilt..... so did you count me or am I # 1,998,208?? my lucky number by the way.

Sadly, I must apologize in advance for my absence. I made it once, but it's not looking good. Thanks for asking, Preacher!

That's precisely the number I got. I guess great minds think alike, or are alike thoughtless. Whichever.

I did not count "plaid preacher", because he is having so much trouble with his kilts, I suspected he might drop out of the kilted rabble due to frustration. If not, then of course the number should be ...208.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Sad news has just reached me that "Fingers" MacTickle (aged 102) has expired. It seems that he was on the run from the boys in blue, having been suspected of interfering with a haggis. As they got close, he had a heart-stopping moment, which unfortunately for him was followed by many more.

So the count now is -1. Come on plaid preacher - it's all down to you now. No pressure then.

    Regards

    Chas

Ahh, but take heart. My new grand-nephew will be arriving soon, and will undoubtedly be in MacTavish Red before he's out of diapers (nappies for you lot across the pond).

Lol. Sorry. I shoukd have clarified. White hose are typically sold to first-time kilt buyers/renters. They usually "go with everything," according to the salesmen in the shops. There is nothing inherently 'wrong' with white hose but they look a bit odd to my eye so I personally avoid them, as do many of the rabble.

The young man who was sagging his kilt was one of several wearing their kilts below the knee (a no-no in THCD)...far below, I might add. They looked like ignorant buffoons. The sagging was flat-out assinine.

Just a guess on my part, too, Jock, but perhaps a bit higher than 25 percent from Beauly to Nairn and north. I'm living in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia right now and I would think upwards of 3000 adult males own kilts here.

Oh Don't give up on me! These are just mere hiccups. I have been waiting years for my Lamont tartan kilt what's a few more months ... and I am going to finish my xkilt this week so I can wear it to RKilts open house on Saturday evening. I shall continue to be Rabble-ious!

And as to the OP ... I fully intend to wear my xkilt around my (natural) waist on Saturday....probably with a pull-over and claret hose.
