Great photos Derek, I am sure I have seen you indulge in one or two pints at that particular pub before though. Cheers to you and Elaine

Spectacular! Looks like a picture from a fairy-tale land. Are those peaks climbable?
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Snow on the ground, yet people at the pub were sitting outside with short sleeve shirts....

Amazing photo! ... I love how those puffy clouds are just peaking over the white mountains and hills and the hills transition into the green fields.

Oh, Lord, Derek, that PUB!!! It screams "HOME!" to me. Sigh.
What's the story on the plaque with the clay pipes? I'll bet there's a tale behind those pipes. (And, hey, can one still smoke a pipe in a pub?)

Derek: You're blessed to live in such beautiful country and to be able to explore it, ... and then stop at a pub on the hike back! I see that one lass has two ski poles. I would need those and a small chair to make it to the top.
I'm not surprised that the peaks are accessible from the opposite side via hiking. New Mexico and Colorado have mountains/mesas like that, too, which was what prompted my question.
That lake is only three minutes from the pub?! That's where I would take my pints, and nap by the shore of a wind swept lake.
Thank you for your generous offer to show me (and Mary) around, off the beaten track. We might take you up on that sometime, but we'll be sure to give you at least 15 minutes notice.
Thanks again for posting those "wanderlust" pics.

Actually, those are known by hikers as 'trekking poles' - they're segmented and length-adjustable to the individual. They're the modern equivalent of the old wood cane/hiking staff. They're not for use as ski poles, as the construction/materials/stress points are different.
Derek, wonderful pics, as are all of the pics you post of the countryside in which you travel. If I ever have the opportunity to travel to Wales, I'd love to take you up on your offer.
