    Rorke's Drift in Toy Land!

Many of us are fans of the movie "Zulu" about the 1879 battle of Rorke's Drift. Here's a stop-action animated version of the battle using toy soldiers:

I'd love to watch this but it says that YouTube cannot load the video. Thanks for sharing, anyhow.

Worked for me although I didn't watch it all the way through -- just established the link to send along to a bro-in-law who is gaga over such stuff.

    Thanks for posting this!

Amazing to this lifelong history-obsessed writer, how "short" the time period was of many immortal world events, like Rorke's Drift.

Recently learned from a US West historian...the Battle of The Little Big Horn only lasted about ten minutes...

...not surprising in thinking thereon, as Sitting Bull had about 2500 braves, Custer had about 250 troopers...and the soldiers armed with single shot Trapdoor Springfield carbines while many, many of their opponents carried Henry and Winchester repeaters.

    .

Reno and Benteen were stuck there for a lot more than ten minutes after his last stand ended.
