    Redundancy gift

Well, thanks to my current employers deciding that I bring nothing to the job despite training the whole team, developing processes and tools, I'm being made redundant. However, my colleagues have just given me a rather nice bottle of 12 year Balvennie...so it's not bad.

That's bad news, Martin. Here's hoping you find something else VERY soon.

That is not good news, all the very best for your future, whatever that may be.

    Best of luck Martin.
Sign of the times I'm afraid.

Thanks gents. I had an interview for a 6month contract at a better rate on Tuesday and just waiting for my mobile to go...but the Balvennie which soften the pain...

On a brighter note: redundancy really is just a way of giving you permission to succeed at something else. Don't give up; dig in. Best of luck in establishing a new career. I'm on my 5th renewal. The most recent being the most personally satisfying. Once again, all the best of luck.

That is unfortunate. I was watching a discussion re: the business-cultural change from valuing labor to valuing investment. According to the panel, this change marginalizes labor's contributions which cannot be quantified, but are no less integral to profit production: team construction pertaining to efficiency matrices; Avant-garde approaches to daily problem solving; capitalization on previously unidentified skill sets; etc.

    Best of luck to you.

I am so sorry to hear this, Martin.

The first time I was made redundant, I spent three weeks wandering round blaming myself, till I finally collapsed from lack of sleep and food. When I woke up I realised that I was the victim of bad management.

You are a quality person and the best man for the job - your future employer just doesn't know it yet.

Regards to you, your lovely wife and the two young kilties.

    Chas
