Rhino mate you are welcome here for sure, and yes the air fare is worth it. Just remember when you land here the money you have saved for the trip gets more than doubled when you change it over to Canadian dollar's. I know in the U.K. a pint is about 5 pounds, well a pint here is about 5 dollar's. You can drink twice as much for the same price as what you pay at home, or the same amount for half the cost, how sweet is that! Not to mention just the city alone is worth the visit, lots to do and pleanty to see. Can't wait to have you here! Cheers

    Andrew,

I don't know who told you that, but we certainly don't pay £5 for a pint of beer here in the UK. The price does vary between the South east and other areas, but you can expect to pay between £2 and £3. So it seems that the price is similar to what it is in Vancouver.

Have a great time at your next kilt night.

No matter what the price of beer, Vancouver is a 1st class city to visit. I bet that one visit will not be enough. Can we say relocation...I think it would be an excellent place to live.

Andrew must be going by London prices, as he was there in November for a few weeks. I remember pints going for about 3 quid when I was there 5 years ago. He is right though in that the pound sterling is more than double the Candian dollar. A good time to visit Canada I would think.

We all sure hope that you join us for a good old party here Rhino!

Thanks for the encouragement chaps, oppurtunities are unfolding at the moment as there's a possibility of moving to Scotland as well.
    Mmm too many choices
As for the land to scape, Canada doesn't need it, it's beautiful as it is.
Fortunately Andrew I drink very little these days, barely managing to sip at a beer, so I'm hoping £50 for a night out would be sufficient
    Cheers Rhino

    Colin,

I have just got back from the pub, where beer was £2.10 per pint. I wouldn't dream of paying more than about £3, even in London.

Well I guess I was getting the out of town tax, those bastard! I think I was paying 4 pounds 50p in London. Anyway your money goes allot farther here than our money does over there, so you lot better get over here, that's all I am trying to say!

If you really want to get ripped off, go to Rome. When my wife and I were there New Years 2001, Coca Cola was going for $7.00 USD each. It was literally cheaper to drink wine (@ $5.00 per glass) than Coca Cola.

Observing prices in Rome, and other tourist trap locales, I've noticed that tourist traps charge far more than the area average for everything.
