Great pics. Interesting to see the Irish and American Flags up front but no Saltire... What was the flag with a blue field? A state or county flag?

No that flag is the state flag of South Carolina. (The one carried by the Honor Guard.) As it turns out an honored guest was an Irish Consular. He has supported the Festival from its inception. He was present and honored with Highland Games Trophy being named after him. That’s my guess why there was no Saltire with the Honor Guard. But there were plenty of them around elsewhere!

No, Kenneth, I meant what I said. But as you have shown either I didn't hear the announcer correctly or he misspoke. 
BTW, My local Sheriff's Office does have their own registered tartan for their kilted Honor Guard.
