I just wanted to show my 2nd Aluminium Cantle Sporran But this time with Horse Hair (sorry for the blured pictures ) Started out with cutting the Aluminium out Then welded it up (same as before ) different design Added the back hangers Then put it all togeather Now the bag was an old leather purse my wife was throwing out So i up cycled it and the zipper seemed to fit (alittle ) Then I added the tail's ** It is not as long as I wanted but for a day wear deal , I am happy with it . Thank you

Here is the two I have made -getting to know each other
Very nice!
WOW. They are really nice. Congratulations on your production. Can't say enough how good I think they look.
nice work! I like the brown on brown against the aluminum. Very good!!
Wow! I am really impressed, mate! Just to make sure that I'm following you, the cantle itself is or is not a functioning cantle? Is the zipper intended for a second (outer) compartment and the cantle for accessing the main (inner) compartment? I've never owned a cantled sporran so I'm curious. Thanks for sharing this.

The Goat hair sporran is functioning see thread http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...sporran-75136/ But the Horse hair can be functionable ,and it started out that way but the hair was so thick that it took up the whole opening on the cantle so I bolted it closed (was not happy about that ) but it was at the end of the project and I was done working on it by then so , I lefted it at that . These are sporrans I made with items I found in my garage , the only things I had to buy were the goat hide and I traded the rest of the goat hide for the brown horse hair , So the goat hide sporran cost me about $30.00 to make and the horse hair sporran cost me about $40.00 to make Not bad for a week end project and a small budget lol Thank you all for the kind words
You're very welcome. Thank YOU for sharing, Thomas. I am working up the courage to make a cantle down the road. This thread has been inspiring.
Thomas, Have you seen what the aluminum will do to your kilt? I'm just curious if it starts to buff off black where it's been cut (assuming that the surface is anodized). Otherwise it's lovely, congratulations. ith:
