Have fun! My wife bought me the book (while visiting the Tartan Museum) and I recently completed a heavy cotton kilt using Barb's instructions/methods. It turned out well enough that now I am working on a long "kilted skirt" for my wife. I found the book VERY helpful. Happy kilt making!!!

What skill level does one need to be in order to make use of this book? Is it intended for people with madd sewing skillz, or is it assumed that if you can follow step-by-step directions you'll end up with something wearable?

There are lots of guys on this Forum who have never sewed before and have used the instructions in the book to make a kilt. So bash on!!

You talking about me?
Just be careful. If you catch the sewing bug, one kilt will lead to another, and vests, and jackets...
