Are there any like minded men in New England?

    Hello to all,
I am very new at wearing a kilt, and I'm doing so because I firmly believe that men were not meant to wear trousers. It's a sociatal thing.History just proves to us that this is so. I was wondering if there were any kilt wearing groups on the east coast? I know that there are Highlands games in New England, but I've never attended. I live in Boston, and would like to correspond with others in this area. Thanks

    WELCOME Chuck,

Glad that you decided to come on board! As far as kilt wearing in Boston, I have yet to do it, but who knows I may just show up there sometime. As you can tell this is a world wide forum, and although very few of us from my neck of the woods (Denver) post, I am slowly seeing other guys wearing kilts or just plain asking about them. You may notice that you may be the trend setter, but that is OK. Kilt wearing is a great confidence builder as some of the other posts have stated. Just don't give up!

Again welcome and when you get a chance tell us more about your experiences!

Hey there, Chuck! I lived in Cambridge until recently, and wear my kilt about. I was in Boston a few times last week wearing the kilt. At the moment I'm staying in Hopkinton, and planning on going to Ireland for a few months, but when I get back I'll likely be back in Cambridge again. Good luck with your kilt-wearing! Boston is a great city for it; I often get thumbs-up from police officers of Irish descent.

    Boston kilts...

    Chuck,

One of the oldest St. Andrew's Societies in America was founded in Boston; if it is still around, that would be a great group to link up with, since there will be "kilts o' plenty" there.

And as Andrew said, with all of the constables and others of Irish descent, you're sure to always receive a warm welcome on St. Patrick's Day! And you're not too far from Canada either.

    Welcome aboard!

    Cheers!

    T.

Thanks to all of you who have responded to my post. You have all given me a lot more confidence in wearing my kilt out in public. 8)
