    Opinion Sought (Sporran)

So, the husband has the Black Watch.

What color sporran should he get, black or white?

I thought that white would stand out beautifully, but is "stand out" really that good a thing?

My other thought is that I still have my eye on the white/blue Dress Davidson in the future, & again, have the same issue, but in reverse: black would stand out, but is that a good thing?

Are you referring to FUR color or LEATHER color?

If you're referring to fur, it's all a matter of personal preference. There are also lots of grey variations (both on the lighter and darker sides) as well. Then there's fox / badger / etc. which will lean toward the brown side.

When is he going to wear it most? Day time or evening? Day time would be black or brown leather. White (presumably fur?) is more suited to formal evening events. Have a look at Rocky's website usakilts or any of the other vendors on this forum. They all have plenty of choice to suit all budgets and occasions.

Full mask or tweed is another option for a sporran.

I don't care for the stark white (fur or leather) -- looks '60s mod to my eye.

Agreed. But if you've got the go go boots to match . . .

You are probably correct, Carlo. It isn't called Davidson Dress, however, but a fashion tartan designed for a very particular wedding 'dress'. There are no copyrights that say you can't choose to have that one specially woven for your husband, Flavia, but it was designed by a groom for his bride. Just so you know.
