You are both in our prayers, Graham. As said before, just let her know you love her and let this pass.

Graham,
That's a tough thing to go through. It's scary and heartbreaking for the whole family.
I hope you all get the love and support you need to heal from this.
My warmest thoughts and prayers go out to you.

Graham,
I was sorry to hear the unfortunate news. We have a long history of that sort of thing in my family, and I was suicidal for several years until I finally was able to resolve some deeper issues about family, God, and religion. Anguish and sadness are unpleasant, but for some it may be unavoidable at certain times. One positive outcome, though, is that often those who experience such feelings develop a deep sensitivity to truth, spirituality, and meaning. I deeply hope that all turns out well with you, and that tough times for your family eventually yields something meaningful.
It's very understandable not to want to wear your favorite clothes when you are not at your happiest. I hope things don't ever get bad enough for you to shave your beard and put ashes on your head. If they do, though, we're all here for you.

Graham,
I was so sorry to hear of your family strife. Let me start by saying that I am relieved that everything with your daughters' physical health will be OK. Whew! I, like zeytoun, have had "issues" with depression in the past, but I am living proof that it can be overcome with the support of family, friends and professional help. Depression kinda sneeks up on you. You may not even notice it, just a little "down." It is like a snowball rolling down a hill - picking up momentum as it rolls along - until you find yourself thinking "it is too much! Life isn't worth living!" Then you think of ways to die, then when it will happen. It is pretty scary, looking back, how close I came. Thankfully, I received help before it was too late. Let your daughter know you love her and will support her, but it is not your fault! Attempted suicide is a call for help!! When completed, it is a permanent solution to a temproary problem. Show her you love her by seeing that she gets that help. You and your family have all our support. You and yours will be in my prayers.

Welcome Bill. Glad to have your esteemed company. I was wondering how long it would take you to find your way over here. I was feeling the loss of your insights when you signed off the utilikilt site the other day. Glad you're here, you'll like it I'm sure.

Sure, I recognize the name from the Utilikilt list to which I used to subscribe. It is from Bill that I first learned of The Jarls of Lochlan, whose url I copied over to here least week.
Welcome aboard, Bill! You will find this place a bit more friendly and positive than the UK list. It is nice having an image to put with the words.
