Obvious Farscape influence and also firefly, enjoyed the pilot and have a couple of episodes on sky plus to watch.
i have a kilt adventure starting on 14 May, I cannot post a link as it contravenes the rules but if anyone would like to follow me there are some clues below.
i have a page on a famous social media site founded by Mark Zuckerberg
the page is complete with no spaces.
clue 1. Is numerical, 17 multiply by 3.
clue 2. Is the four letter word which is used to describe multiples of 24 hour time periods.
clue 3. The opposite of out.
clue 4. First letter of the alphabet.
clue 5. The non-bifurcated garment which draws us to this forum.
I do hope that the clues might give you all a small diversion and that I am in still within the rules

Oh! Wow! Not what I was expecting at all! I only caught a few minutes of the pilot and didn't see him. Pretty cool, actually. He's kind of a Steampunk version of Michael Westmore's work. I dig it. Thanks, Stoo.

"Farscape" was AWESOME!!! "Firefly" I could take or leave. B5 and DS9 are closely neck-and-neck for me (slight edge to DS9 but I'm a Trek-junkie).
Battlestar Galactica has always been hard for me to jump into. I am too young to remember the original series and the remake was good but for some reason it never held my interest longer than one several-episode Netflix streak. Caprica...hmmm...again, it started out great but by the third episode it was so slow.
"Star Wars"...eh...not for me. Too fantasy, not firmly sci-fi enough for me, neither fish nor foul but attempts to be...something. Over-inflated pseudo-intellectualism attributed to it by its fans is what killed it for me (and Disney).
"Dr Who" freaking ROCKS!!! I haven't seen a lot of the old show but the relaunch/continuation is tops! David Tennent is my doctor.
How is "Torchwood?" I haven't started it yet.
Like my science fiction to be smart--even if the concepts presented are eventually disproven or invalidated later (i.e. Mary Shelly's "Frankenstein").
Steam-punk is its own thing, though. It (like punk rock, oddly enough) seems to strive for assimilating much around it. I like that. It's neither fish nor foul but it doesn't try to be...it opts to be a virus instead.

I've been loving the show the whole time. If you have Syfy On Demand, or Hulu Plus I know they are available there.
The game is a a lot of fun, too, if you like third-person shooters (the genre). It is an MMO, too, so it's really cool; it's available on PS3, Xbox360, and PC. I've sent in a suggestion for a kilt outfit in the game (much like Sukar's outfit... considering I'm playing a male Irathian in the game, I'd pay for it.) It's interesting to see a game and TV show developed in conjunction with each other. Things happen in the game because of what happens in the show and vice versa, plus each has it's own internal stories to make each a standalone product. Definately better than most game tie-ins where we get a game loosely based on the movie/show. In fact, I'm going to be getting on later tonight (Xbox360 North American servers, Deirachel).
As for B5 being longer, I think you may have missed something about that show. J. Michael Straczynski wrote the entire plot line for the show before the first episode ever aired. Not each show granted, but the overarching story was set. It was part of his vision for the show to have a specific beginning, middle, end feel. The only hiccup to it was Michael O'Hare leaving after the first season. He altered the commander and then wrote a reason for him leaving and that fixed that. Check out the first paragraph of the wikipedia article about it.

I thought of both of those as well. I'm enjoying it.

I dig Sukar's costume, kilted steampunkish. I have been watching from the premiere, I have to say its very good. With the last 2 episodes being awesome.

Wow, what a great thread this is turning into
BSG original series, having only 3 TV channels any Sci-fi for a young boy was exciting, also had Buck Rogers at the same time (will there be a re- make?). Dr Who was part of every English child's growth, we all have a favourite, I was into the series just after the Patrick Troughton, who had a kilted assistant, Jamie, then into pertwee who was my childhood Dr, Tom Baker was my teen Dr, who I was fortunate enough to meet, followed by the rest, never lost interest and when it was re-booted, each new Dr has brought his own unique stamp to the role, including McCann in the TV Movie. I could write and talk for hours on all the other great and not so great Sci-fi shows from my formative years, stingray, the tomorrow people, Blakes 7 but will sign off now

*** about this thread! I am really digging it.
On a slight derail, there was a comic that crossed over ST:TNG with Dr Who a while back. I haven't read it but it looks interesting. It involves the Q Continuum.
I am watching the "Halo" movie on Netflix. It isn't bad but it's slow starting and the story is kind of...eh. Not much in the way of originality but the acting is really good and the effects are outstanding. It was a re-edit of a webseries. It only cost $8.5 million to make. Did they cut some corners? A few but none that ruin the film. They seem to have been prudent with their budget. Take notice, studio fat cats. You don't have to spend a quarter-to-half a billion dollars to make a flashy sci-fi movie.

One of my weaknesses is Stargate, I loved the movie and then got involved with the series, it started with the Star Trek premise, danger, humour and then everything solved within the last five minutes, but the grew into itself with continuing story arcs, it's still one of the programmes that if its on, I will watch. Loved all the Star Trek series, yes including enterprise, voyager was the only one I didn't really follow. DS9 was great, good villains, and humour. B5, loved until Claudia left, squeezing a five year story into four, then spreading out the final year spoils it as an overall series. Psi-corp agree, but Talia was hot with those gloves
