So I was flicking through the net tonight, and I saw this weathered kilt by Lady Chrystel.

Does anyone know which mill she is using for her weathered tartan? Many of the kilt suppliers I know of can get weathered tartans woven with PV, but I am not sure if Marton Mills makes a weathered tartan?

They have Scott weathered in PV at Marton mills

The double box pleat does look sharp, as does the weathered tartan.

That is one of the nicest fashion tartans I have seen, turned in to a double box pleated kilt it looks superb. Very nicely done Lady Chrystel.

Don't mind paying 225 euros for her work but not an extra 250 euros for PV material. At this price I expect wool... and maybe this is what she is providing!

I still would not wear a $500 kilt for everyday wear. I have bought a few inexpensive PV 8 yard kilts and they do a pretty good job for everyday wear and have not fallen apart. Of course I prefer my nice wool kilts.

Now, it is true that a nice fabric is worth the cost. For example, there is wool and wool. People say that wool is rough, true for cheap wool fabric. High quality wool is very soft and does not scratch at all...but then you pay the price for it!
