A *bump* for Taylor Knives' Sgian Dubhs...

Hey everybody! I just ordered this from Taylor Knives and I love his craftsmanship - http://www.ebay.com/soc/itm/271199936223 The price was right ($90 after priority shipping,) the reconstituted stone works well as a spacer, and I like the grip. Hell, I used it to peel an apple earlier. Definitely functional and sharp, too. Already cut my middle finger on it earlier when admiring the balance.

I'm not really sure this would be the best place for this post, given that this sub-forum ("A Real Sgian Dubh") is for one of X-Marks' paid advertisers by the same name (see red icon on the right-side margin. You might want to ask one of the mods to move this thread to one of the more general sub-forums, not tied to a particular advertiser.

Yeah, I know. Easy to look at a topic title and not realize it's in a particular forum. Once the mods put this in the proper place I'll have equally positive things to say about the maker of your own piece.

The nice thing about a "bespoke" piece is you can get just what you want. Mr. Taylor made a stag-handled daywear sgian for me two years ago; I have others, but it's almost the only one I wear. I was able to specify blade length & style; handle length & style; and even pick out the specific piece of antler I wanted for the handle. It is EXACTLY what I envisioned, and I couldn't be happier with it.
