Dalgliesh is stocking the American district tartan in heavy weight (the blue appears a bit lighter in real life).

Then there is the US Bicentennial tartan, now more commonly called the US St. Andrews tartan. Lochcarron stocks it in a 10 oz.

I'm surprised that "American District" has black instead of blue.

Joss, that's an outstanding kilt and you look great in it. It's fairly contrasty as tartans go but, you manage, in both instances, to balance that contrast; well done!

Not to go off topic (here we go) but, that's a great looking belt/buckle your are wearing in the first photo. What are the details about it and could you share some pics?

Being retired from active duty, and now serving with the Auxiliary, I hope to have an 8yd Coast Guard tartan kilt for such patriotic wear.

As I said in my description, in real life the blue is lighter than the very dark navy, almost black, that appears in the image I posted.

Ah, I missed that. I thought the comment was for the one below it. It never occurred to me that the first one was navy and not black. ;)

If that's the case, I may have found my "patriotic" tartan. Does only Dalgleish make it? Is there anyone doing it it PV?

As far as I am aware, only Dalgliesh is stocking it.

Well, poo. That tends to price it out of range for one kilt.
