I have a regimental weight double box pleat Black Watch from Lady Chrystel, and it is indeed top notch. Too heavy to wear in the summer here below the Mason-Dixon line, but she made exactly what I wanted.

Then you had good luck and I must have had real bad luck. I have a 16oz wool kilt made by Lady Chrystel and it is NOT top-notch. It is OK, no more, but definitely not top-notch (especially for the price) and, I'm sorry that I would NOT be able to recommend her work.

The photo of the double box PV looks good though. In fact, all the examples of her work that I had seen before commissioning my kilt look good. Just bad luck I guess. I haven't heard about another dissatisfied customer.

I probably have all the kilts that I need for the moment but if I feel the need to have another kilt made I will be passing by the master kilt maker Paul Henry who has since made me a masterpiece of a kilt and whom I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.
