I am sure, in fact I believe tha late MacLeod had a similar doublet (probably got it from Stewart Christie as well). The sad fact is that we don't have this kind of "knees-up" generally in Scotland which is a disappoimtment.

That's an interesting magazine, both for the prose and the pictures. What a resplendent scene the RCB must be with all the finery on display!

Thanks for sharing, Kyle! Very cool. I like the ads as well. They show the well to do demographic that attends this exclusive 'society' event.

I too would love to attend, one day.
Although it does say that you will be refused entry if incorrectly dressed, if you look at some of the photos of previous balls, you can easily see that this is not always the case.
There is even a photo in the 2010 magazine where there is a man dressed in a kilt and a saxon jacket (not kilt cut at all) without a tie!

I would imagine that he arrived wearing a tie.

It's interesting that they stipulate a black bow tie or lace jabot for Highland dress without making accommodation for the "Perthshire style" of wearing a white bow tie with Highland dress.
Thanks for sharing, Kyle!

Maybe he did Chas, but he CERTAINLY didn't arrive wearing what was stipulated in their dress code.
