The Tartan Crotch Rocket
Quite the attention-getting title! This morning I played a memorial service. Nothing very out of the ordinary about that. Here's me playing in what I call my 'funeral rig,' Heritage of Scotland tartan and black argyl and waistcoat. I wish the guy taking the pic had stood a couple of yards closer. Oh, well:

As this is getting into the busy season here in Spokane, outside the venue of the service was a staging area for a children's/youth parade that was going to be on a nearby arterial in town. While outside warming up and prepping for the memorial service, I saw it. It was in a line of custom and specialty vehicles. So, without further ado, the Tartan crotch rocket:

Wow! Just, wow!

Blupiper,
I also saw that rather interesting bike around town last weekend. I had to stop and do a double-take! I've never seen anything like it. Hope your performance went well (you look sharp!).

Not sure about the green wheels/frame but love the tartan look.

Honestly would you just look - someone has gone and written all over it - you can't leave anything for five minutes these days......

"5150 Pat". Cute. Not sure the meaning up in WA, but in Calif. "5150" is a section out of the CA. Welfare and Institutions Code for a mental patient (who is a danger to himself, danger to others).

Some of guitarist Eddie Van Halen's equipment is branded "5150."

Zardoz:
If Pat Manzi is about 5'8" and has tatted sleeves, I may have spoken to him about a permission to take the pic. That's part of him in the upper left of the pic. He wouldn't give me permission to ride it, though. We are at odds as to which is louder--the bike or my pipes.
