I think it looks great. Lately I've been thinking of making a kilt too. I have about 11 of kilts already, but think that it would be an interesting project, with a nice benefit at the end.

    Question:
How many yards of tartan did you use to make your kilt? Thanks.

Absolutely superb ! I have always liked that particular MacDonald tartan . Your choice of pleating is also spot on . Based on the few open pleats in your pictures , it should have a very nice reveal on the swish . Well done . In my humble opinion , you have a good eye , good sir !

finally finished & took it out for a 'test drive'; as with the others, it was a learning experience. I can see all the flaws, but it looks OK, from a distance

I'm not a kilt maker, but (at one time in my life) I was a wallpaper hangar, and put up a lot of "plaid". I know that when ever you work with a plaid (in this case tartan) that the patern in the material becomes a visual yard stick, so much so, that you can "measure every thing with your eyes".

I think that your kilt, and work look great. I know that when you're the author of something it's easy to be (or become) hyper critical. I've blown up the photo, and looked at the seams, and all the seams, and pleats are looking strait, and even to me..

It looks to me like you've done a great job. Congradulations on a project compleated.

Appropriate spelling of the word "completed"

And let me add my compliments on a sharp looking kilt!
