Hello, Ladies & Gentlemen. This is my first post here at X Marks the Scot. I am the commissioner of this truly fine and most remarkable sporran. It has been a complete and utter pleasure working with Scott, The Artificer from start to finish. I am a wee bit overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of Scott's artistry - and by all of your wonderful comments and observations. I will be posting more detailed comments and "action" shots once the parcel arrives.

In some ways, I am sorry that the creative process is concluded. I had so much fun working with Scott that I already miss the regularity of our conversations. I have developed a very deep and abiding respect for him as a person and as an artisan. I deliberately refer to him as The Artificer with a capital T, because in my view, he has no equal in his field.

I'm looking forward to sharing experiences with such an august group of like-minded people.

I can only imagine how much fun this was. You truly do have a museum piece here. Be sure to keep all of the working documents and pictures to hand down to whatever lucky relative inherits this beauty.

Welcome aboard! I think you'll find the rabble to be a very good bunch.

I very much enjoyed this process as well- the back and forth evolution of all the
details was a treat. And it is a rare opportunity to get to craft something new to Highland wear, but still rooted in classic proportions.

I can't wait to see action shots! As I've said before, the only real downside to doing nearly all of my business internationally is that almost never get to deliver the finished pieces in person,
and, especially if it's going to a non-XMarker, sometimes don't ever get to see them worn.

Wow. It's been said already but...wow. Your work is exquisite. I love hair sporrans by the way and wish they were more popular nowadays. This is one very unique and special hair sporran.

Scott, from what I've seen your sporrans are nice and unique enough to be collectable as fine works of art.

Ach, well. Stung by the dreaded dart of the Exiseman. Precious few things escape their grasp these days now that Parcelforce have locked down the international delivery market in Scotland. Chance would have been a fine thing. We can but live in hope. It doesn't matter though, Scott's Art is well worth the weight and even with the Tariff, his work is still presents tremendous value for investment. No one here could have produced work of such artistic quality and style even at 4-5 times the price. Now, I wait patiently for them to get lost in the forest in search of my house for delivery on Thursday from Inverness. I'll be home on Friday night to catch my first glimpse in person.

The craftsmanship on this sporran is nonpareil. Moreover the cantle and the whole concept is very artistic. Well done! Absolutely beautiful.

I do have some questions. Is there a main "sack" of the sporran accessed by opening the cantle? What is the purpose of the rings on the back of the sporran? Are the brass studs on the back part of the attachment of the cantle?

Looking at the photos again, the split rings secure the tassells to the sporran, the brass nuts secure the cantle to the body of the sporran and the only pocket on the sporran is the "ticket" pocket you see. These type of sporrans are not meant to be stuffed with the goodies you may have in your regular day sporran. Hope this helps.
