Looks great! I see what I am doing "wrong" I wear the badge closer into my left eye which in turns make the area that you pull down over yout right ear more severe, like a beret. Thanks for all the great info guys

Here are a couple of my Tam O'Shanter balmorals, the two just want to form differently. I have since tightened up my badge on the dark green by putting holes in it and putting the pin posts through the holes rather than just the pin shaft itself. This snugs it up to the fabric nicely although it creates permanent holes so be absolutely sure of badge placement before you proceed.

I've always worn mine in pretty much the same way as Jock, which is, of course, the correct way.

Here's the bow I tied on a new bonnet (before some low life stole it!):

    A different angle:

Another bonnet with a red toorie:

    And finally my green bonnet:

These are not presented as the perfect way, just my way.

Balmorals are one of those things about Highland Dress which have had great continuity.

Here's a very early photo of one being worn

Here are a number of prestigious gents wearing them

    Here are Balmorals in 1945

    and in 1936

And as worn today by The Black Watch

Now in the 19th century bonnets are sometimes bigger or smaller than usual

These are great pics. Very informative and gives us a look back. We look just like our forefathers did, very nice.
