I've always liked the way saffron kilts look with deep green (Archer Green) jackets and hose. I've seen saffron kilts look great with deep blue hose also.

Camel Thompson is a lovely tartan. My SOP is to avoid any of the main colours present in the kilt when choosing hose; in other words have the hose coordinate rather than match (as green or blue hose coordinate with but do not match the saffron kilt). So if I had a kilt that had all brown shades I'd go with blue hose perhaps, for everyday wear. But we're talking an Episcopal wedding ceremony! So I would want to keep things subdued, going with brown hose perhaps, or bison as was suggested, in other words keeping a similar hue to the kilt but of a darker shade.

I have a personal dislike for offwhite hose. It's partly due to when I got into wearing the kilt back in the 70s, when tartan hose were still fairly common for Evening Dress but many men would show up with offwhite hose, which when paired with white shirts looked a bit dingy. Better in my opinion to go with oatmeal or bison or brown.

    Thanks for the advice.

My wife said she is wanting me to wear a chocolate colored tie. I'm thinking that leans a little toward the Saffron choice, but I think it could work w/ the Thompson Camel.

That being said, I might be able to tweak the color choice of tie. What/where are Bison hose? I haven't seen them while searching last night.

Whoever suggested the Klingon pin....me like that idea. So if I get in trouble for that, I'm throwing you under the bus!!! (not really)

Bison is a rich brownish color, that looks like this:

Any vendor who sells House of Cheviot's "Glenmore" line hose should be able to provide. Similar colors might be offered by other vendors as well.
