I have not had the situation that you had mentioned, but I have had the problem of sweating and causing a rash, that never seemed to go away. Many visits to many doctors had yielded nothing but more doctor bills, and plenty of lotions and antibiotics and a much thinner wallet.
On my own, I started wearing kilts and almost overnight the rash went away. A few months later I went to one doctor for a visit (kilted of course) when he saw the rash was gone, all he said was "the last medication must be working, continue with it" what he did not know is that I had not used it in a long time.
I continue wearing kilts and go to a different doctor, one that can understand that sometimes medication may not be the "perfect" situation.
Thank you for sharing, we all have things in our life that may cause a little discomfort, but sometimes must be.
