Balmoral Kilts and Highland Dress? (was: House of Edgar?)

While perusing the offerings of our site's sponsor, I noted that their traditional kilts are made by House of Edgar. I am afraid that the quality of my Kinloch Anderson kilt has me spoiled. Any thoughts on House of Edgar?

    House of Edgar

    Mychael,

The tartan for my Cumming Hunting Ancient is from the House of Edgar -- I am very, very pleased with it. House of Edgar has a good reputation and is a member of the Scottish Tartans Authority.

    Cheers!

Actually, now that I look again, I see that the tartan that I was viewing was woven by House of Edgar... Sorry about that bit of misinformation.

The kilts themselves are made by Balmoral Kilts and Highland Dress. So, is anyone familiar with this kiltmaker?

    Mychael,

I was asking Jimmy about his traditional kilt a while ago, and he got his made by Balmoral - provided by our sponsor. Here's what he wrote...

(I hope you don't mind Jimmy!)

I know that there are some USA kiltmakers that make them for less... but BELIEVE ME... with this thing, you get what you pay for. This comes from someone that still makes kilts, and COMPLETELY respects and admires the material, craftsmanship, detail, and quality of these kilts.

Mine took less that 8 weeks to arrive from Edinburgh. That's order to receipt.
I figure that this should answer some of your questions.

Good question Colin. He's not responding to emails either.

Methinks he may be on vacation... Give him a few days and we'll see if Mr. Carbomb returns...
