    LukeyRobertson in High River

As some of you know, Southern Alberta has been going through a rough time of late. Flood waters are Epic. Our own LukeyRobertson resides in High River, and the town has been evacuated. I'm hoping his kilts survived
My thoughts are with him and his family, and of course the residents of that community as they try and rebuild from this ordeal.
    All the best David.

We have just been watching it on the news, the floods look horrendous. Our thoughts are with LR and all those involved.

I just got an email from David. He has been evacuated to Calgary, and is staying with family. They are not allowed back to High River for the time being. The church he ministers at is severely damaged., that has shocked him up a bit.
Water is certainly a powerful thing.
The key here is that he and his family are safe. Unfortunately the media has reported three deaths in the area and one person missing.
Xmarks have a number of members in the area that have been affected. I wish them well.

Seems hard to believe as I was there less than 2 weeks ago. Drove through Canmore and Calgary on a beautiful sunny day. Hope all our members and their families are safe and well. It's a beautiful part of the world to be touched by devastation is heartbreaking.

Yes indeed, the deluge always seems to strike somewhere. Here in Scotland this past week I have seen farmers spraying their crops with water, which I have not seen for several years due to a succession of unusually wet summers here. That said, we have had a few heavy rain showers today.
The daughter of one of my cousins lives in Calgary. Luckily her house is on high ground and has escaped damage.
Prayers being said for our friends and relatives in Alberta.

May all those affected by these destructive weather patterns find some solace in the sympathy we all have for them ("there but for the grace..." ) as well as the material and practical support they will need. And our special sympathy to anyone who has lost a loved one to any such disaster. Kilts are replaceable; lives aren't!
