Nothing like the quality of OP's athletics shots, but here's another side of the Games. These are from Saturday's clan parade, which caught us in the vendor tent row (surprise, surprise!). I tried to catch every clan, in groups of 3-4, but was working with cell phone camera so apologies in advance.

And two stories from Sunday:

1. Gently told a fellow that those white stitches were just basting, and should come out before the kilt is worn in public. His wife explained that it was his first time wearing a kilt (ya think?) and they were grateful for if somewhat embarrassed by the information. This was well into the middle of the Games venue, I'm not sure how he had gotten that far along without somebody breaking the news. . .

2. A woman admired Bob's Leatherneck kilt and demanded that he turn around. Seems her husband had seen a kilt in that tartan but didn't like it because it was "all yellow in the back." I explained the difference between stripe and sett (Bob's = sett) and she thought her husband would be quite pleased to learn this.

OK, one last shot (since the forum still wants me to wait before posting again). I was amused to be served a very nice Ballast Point oatmeal stout in these quite inappropriate plastic cups!

I hate the new Photobucket. I spent quite a bit of time cropping those photos for better presentation, and carefully told PB to save/replace originals. Yet viewing them here, and on my smartphone, the work doesn't seem to have come through. Sorry about that, folks.

I hate it too! Thanks for taking the time to upload the photos, Sydnie, they look great! I noticed a clan chief was present. Do you recall which clan? I really can't tell from the photo.
