Yes, it is indeed American actor and comedian, Steve Martin.
Other American celebrities, such as Robin Williams (who has actually participated in the running events - see below), have accompanied Billy to Lonach as well. It's quite the turnout there, usually chock full of A-listers from both America and the UK, yet the real star of the show are the Wallace and Forbes men. See their march below. It's a sight to behold in person.

I guess it must be his Hollywood lifestyle that provides the white hose .
Looking forward to seeing him in the Hobbit.
Edit:
(I'm actually surprised that he wears the kilt.) How could I forget Mrs. Brown

Here are some lovely images of the Wallace (red-based tartan) and Forbes (green-based tartan) men at The Lonach Gathering. By seeing these fine gents in person, you almost get the feeling that some of Kenneth MacLeay's sitters from his 19th-century watercolour portraits titled, The Highlanders of Scotland, are springing to life once again! For more information about this wonderful event, check out the following link:

Robin Williams does, indeed, have a fondness for Scotland.
Holywood does seem to have a fondness for things Scottish (I get more compliments on my kilt in Hollywood and West LA than any other part of the city).
I wonder if David Tennent ever turns up at the Games? Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that D. L. Hughley in one of those photos (sitting in front of Billy, laughing, white shirt, brownish/grey jacket, tartan tie that doesn't match his kilt)?
Great photos! Thank you for sharing.

Wow, those pikemen! Better keep them straight up vertical on any countermarches!

If I remember right, the first picture of Billy in the "Test pattern" kilt was from a "Dressed to kilt" or what ever that fashion show is called...

I recently got turned on to "Dressed To Kilt."
It looks like an interesting event. From what I've seen it might make some TCHD wearers cringe but so did knife pleats a one time.

Go to YouTube and put in "A Wee Afghani." Classic bit from Mr. Connolly.
