Canada and the Scots

Almost all my relatives are Canadians. My mother's Scots/Irish family all emigrated to Canada. My Scottish father served in Canada with the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan in Ontario and then in Alberta and it was only because he sustained a head injury in 1943 that he was shipped back to Britain to serve in an RAF salvage crew. Otherwise I would have been Canadian born like my cousins. Not going to the big Canada Day party in Trafalgar Square London this year but nevertheless I will suitably celebrate Canada Day tomorrow.

Is it a coincidence that the Dress Act was repealed on July 1st also?
Still sorting out which tartan I will wear. And which pint I will lift in honor of all the great Canadians.
