Advice needed on Roy Rob Film tartan Feileadh mor

Hi all, it's been awhile since I posted anything. I am aiming to buy a tartan for a Feileadh mor. I would like to get the Liam Neeson Rob Roy film tartan. Has anyone found a vendor that carries it, other than Celtic Croft?

I'd go with the Scotweb, as they use a traditional loom with a proper kilting selvedge - even more authentic.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think this is a fanciable option. At $751.19 for 8yds. needed for this Belted Plaid is a bit on the pricey side. Evan if I wasn't financially challenged, I would not pay that much for a garment I would wear at Renn Fests and Highland Fests. Maybe Celtic Croft is the way to go.

Scotweb doesn't seem to have the original Islay Woollen Mill fabric in the original colors used in the movie, and $299 is NOT a bad price at all. So go with Celtic Croft!
If you later decide it might be better put to other uses. . .I got one years ago from another vendor who no longer offers it, and somehow never wore it even once. So I got it reconfigured as a 6-yard knife-pleated kilt (which I now wear fairly often!) by Matthew Newsome, along with a bias-cut waistcoat.

Yes, I know that. At Scotweb the fabric is 27.6” wide, therefore I would need to buy 8yds. and cut it in half and sew together on the length to get 55.22" (not counting seam allowance).

For that particular tartan I would go with Celtic Croft. The price is better on the over all. I used 3 and a half for my early early period belted plaid. But my nicer one, though it is less authentic (length has nothing to do with it on the accuracy) is a four and a half yarder.
I would say that I am reluctant to pay that much for a renfair garment, but I usually wear one of my armor kits and those range from $1,000 to $2,000 depending on the kit. But those also have stopped serious injury in my live steel troop. What I tell the new members of our troop is that the armor pays for itself the first time you get hit with an ax and get back up. Unfortunately the same isn't true with a great kilt. For something of that nature I guess it would work out to durability and the amount of wear it will get.
