Bannockburn 2014 - Invitation to Clan Societies

The official announcement from the National Trust of Scotland for Clan Societies involvement in the Bannockburn 2014 Event (28, 29, 30 June 2014) has been released. The sign up window is short. Click here for the announcement.

The Harpenden Highland Gathering is a 1 day event in England, but has a regular attendance of 20,000 in an area that could safely accommodate up to 1 million people.

Q. How many people will attend?

A.
An estimated 15,000 will attend Bannockburn Live each day where visitors from around the world including Clan representatives will be welcomed to enjoy a distinctive range of activities and performances over the three day event.

I feel that they have vastly underestimated the numbers attending and for safety many will be turned away.

The Battle of Bannockburn reenactment is June 23-24, 2014. So, the Bannock Live is the weekend following the reenactment, right?

Bannockburn Live is the three day event 28, 29, 30 June 2014. Each day there is to be a re-enactment of the battle.

As I understand it those June dates relate to 2013. And of course, June 24 is the date of the actual battle in 1314

Maybe the website is wrong then but the top of the page in the right hand side it says:

700th anniversary 23-24 June 2014
357 Days to prepare for battle

I presume they mean that June 24 is the actual REAL date for the 700th aniversary and the three day shindig in 2014 is a few days later? Does not fill one with confidence for next year,does it?

Right, Jock! 23 & 24 is the anniversary dates of the battle in 1314. The Re-enactment battle dates are the 28, 29 and 30th of 2014.
