Thanks, Rufus! A very good answer at that.
Now, as to Jimmy's fate, I missed that entire show, though I do vaguely recall a post he made that referred to a picture some found offensive. I cannot find that post now and am assuming that has been deleted. When I went into the member's list and clicked on Jimmy's profile, I noted that I could not access any of his prior posts. He was listed as having never posted on Xmarks. Conversely, if I were to find one of his posts within a thread (i.e., the thread welcoming me to this group,) I could use that link to his profile to access the remainder of his posts. Interesting system.
If Jimmy has truly gone, then I am sad because he lent an interesting flavor here and I don't like seeing diversity lessened.
I recently left the Utilikilts list because of a few undisciplined folks, coupled with a complete lack of moderation. However, the other extreme [censorship] can be every bit as bad. Not knowing any of the facts in this instance, I cannot comment other than very generally by saying that I find it very disquieting to know posts and threads can disappear. I can deal with curse words morphing into olde English approximations emblazoned in red. If a pic or link is not suitable for family viewing, I can understand its being removed or ejected into the aether, its sponsor or author sanctioned or warned as deemed appropriate by the moderator. I can even grant approval to particularly unruly off topic members being told to take their fight to PM. But, I am altogether uncomfortable with posts or threads disappearing altogether or becoming locked. It creates confusion and holes in the history, to say nothing of annoyance that distracts from the mission of the group, and I would reconsider my own membership in any forum should that happen in a manner that I was able to deem unfair or arbitrary.

I agree Mychael
This issue seems to me to have been dismissed
I don't think it can be left like this

Well I never meant to run Jimmy off. I never heard from him on this issue. I hope that he will come out of the woodwork.
The rules are rules though. If a posts gets off the topic of kilts in a part of the forum that is designated for kilt talk it is subject to removal.
I meant to post this in my other response to stone but I will from now on leave explanation of why a certain topic is removed or locked. But I am also not going to let this be an anything goes kinda of place. Go to Toms if you want that.
I will be glad to continue this discussion in the Comments section of this forum.

Hank,
We all make choices. As you can see I decided to stay. Jimmy has to make his. I do miss him though.
Jimmy, if you are taking a peek, come on back.
Again I would like to thank you for running this site for us.

Fair enough. Actually, quite fair.
