Sorry, Mike, but what is life without something to jones for?

It's funny, I started down this path making brass cantles because I wanted to make one for ME and couldn't find one anywhere, and after year I still haven't gotten to make mine, and won't until at least Summer's end.

Thanks Shaun, I do always try to one-up myself.

Well done my friend, well done.

    Yours aye,
While visions of studded brass danced in his head... I hope I'm not responsible for any sleep loss, Kyle.

    Thanks again, guys.
I'm glad the rabble doesn't think all the ornament (both applied and pierced) is over the top.

I do like the sporrans and don't think anything is over the top.
I wouldn't want the pierced hearts in the cantle but I guess they were asked for, so nothing to complain.
    Great work

    Traditional pouch sporan

Dale posted photos of his traditional pouch sporran. As shown in his photos.
Saw one worn by the curator of a Scottish kilt museum up in the Scottish Highlands ove thirty years ago.
Would be suitable for carrying a days supply of musket balls and my daily ration of porridge oats. The sporran fits directly onto the belt without a chain. good support fo a heavy weight. Roddy

Elsewhere on the forum I have seen mention of the use of plain sporran belts instead of chains to reduce wear on the kilt. My Gordon Highlanders Pipers sporran has this type of support although the horse hair tassles aer supported on chains. Must post som photos when I get organised. Rod
