I was on xmarks long before I joined!

My son, who has way too much time on his hands, forwarded me this:
    http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...y-weird-32916/

I joined the forum in March of 2009. I think that was a few weeks before I got my first kilt - I found it looking for sporrans. This discussion was about an article that had come out in December, 2007 in our Worcester County newspaper about bow ties. In it I mentioned that I was going to get a kilt.

So here I was discussed on a forum I'd never heard of that would become a daily staple to me a year and a half later. Huh! That was six years ago. Who would have guessed I'd love my kilts so much or that I would be playing the Great Highland Bagpipes? Or that my daughter would lead me to Glasgow for the Worlds.

    Life is amazing, isn't it?

Excellent tale. A fine introduction to Xmarks and to kilting. I met you thanks to Xmarks while I was visiting Boston MA and looking forward to seeing you again when you come to Scotland.

Plus one! Such a wonderful aspect about this forum is having the opportunity to meet and greet new people with a shared interest in the kilt. I have met many members of the rabble in person since joining XMTS back in the winter of 2010, and I look forward to meeting many of you in the near future. It really is such a unique and wonderful thing. My wife sometimes thinks we're a bunch of weirdos to obsess over the kilt and its array of accessories, but she's only kidding...she gets it!

    Cheers!

Yes, and filled with ironies. Great story - thanks for sharing it with us.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.
