    Sporran strap loop help

I am in the progress of making a new sporran.
Design/producing shouldn't be a problem although I do have a question concerning the back strap loop.

I see most higher end designs use a smaller pinched loop with a pointed bottom, like my layout has.

Is this design superior to just a 2" or 50mm square?

My current sporran had chain Dees, I removed them and riveted on a 2.5" sq piece leather for the strap.
It seams to work fine, but I was curious what the benefits would be in a pinched, pivotal type design.

    Thanks, —T

I would say it is not superior, just a"finishing touch". I have made a few sporrans now and am working on a sporran/belt system that uses no metal (I hate wearing metal when entering federal buildings). A square or rectangle works just as well and nobody sees it since it is hidden behind the sporran. Just my opinion.

What Truitt said. Either one is perfectly functional- it's simply that one shows a lot more attention to detail than the other, and really, that's what separates the quality of most items- attention to the little details.

Yup, everyone's got it right, it's just a little finish detail.
