			Knee length- what is perfect?

I was searching through the first few pages in this forum area and couldn't find a thread dedicated to knee length. Hopefully, this doesn't start too much of a flaming debate...or is there a perfect answer?
How long should knee length be?

From Utilikilt: "The waistband should sit on your hips where your pants normally ride. The hem should rest between the bottom and center of the kneecap. The illustration above will most often put the length of the hem at the bottom of the kneecap."

From Amerikilt: "stand up straight, measure from the point where the waist measurement was made down to the middle of the kneecap."

From Rkilt: "Whilst kneeling measure along the side from waistband to floor."

From Usakilts: "Once you have the top of the towel sitting at the top of where you want to wear the kilt and the bottom edge hitting the middle of your knee, measure the length of the folded towel from the top to the bottom. That will be your kilt length measurement."

This has been hashed out many, many, many times. But yeah, searching for it is difficult. I never have luck with the search function on this forum.
I'm strictly a top-of-the-kneecap guy. Considering that other people will be seeing you from eye level, it actually doesn't hurt to have it just a smidge higher, so that your kneecap can still be seen by people from eye level when they're a few feet from you (especially if they're taking photos).

But keep in mind that each kilt maker will have different ideas on what's "proper". Especially for non-traditional kilts like Utilikilt. Theirs is not intended to be traditional, so it's not in the same category as tartan kilts.

Somewhere between just above the top and middle of the knee would be considered the "norm" but you won't be arrested anywhere unless the kilt is round your ankles.
