The Lochcarron cloth is woven in Scotland, if that is of importance to you.

Simon, I find that my IOS always looks dark when inside, even by a window. BUT, when you get it outside in the sun the colors really pop right out at you. This tartan needs to be in the sun.

Good point Matt. Marton mills comes from the beautiful county of Yorkshire. Probably less than 150 miles as the crow flies from where Lochcarron is made but a distinction nevertheless.

I agree Phil, the Isle of Skye is a beautiful tartan in the sunshine.

RSVPiper has a stunning IOS in tweed, now that is a terrific kilt.

Simon, before making a decision I would also check to see if the Lochcarron is also treated for spills. As I said earlier I know that the MM is.

Lol I have broached the subject but as I have another kilt on order at the moment I think I need to do a bit more buttering up. Screams of you have only just ordered another one are still resounding in my ears at the moment.

She clearly doesn't understand the madness.

Simon, I recon that, if some kind soul (with a bit of time and some organisational skills) volunteered to take on the task of organising a "group buy" of IOS tartan in tweed, there would be quite a few people inerested.
