I don't know about others, but I go over and over the website of the place I ordered my kilt from and check and recheck my Email till the shakes go away. Also I find buying hose and such helps take the edge off.
I like the hunting color way .

You can make the shakes go away?!
Weathered for me in this tartan. Lovely.

I like them all. Nicely done.
To ease the wait I try not to buy another Kilt. Not always successful in that though.

Well, I learned to knit and made three balmoral bonnets. Working on number 4 now. Since it's going to be a year before I can even consider my next kilt purchase, I should have about twenty bonnets by then. :-)

I took up the penny whistle. Thousands of tunes to learn...so little time.

I took up the bagpipes. Dozens of neighbours to annoy in the space of five minutes!

Bagpipes are too much of a commitment for me. How long have you been playing?

Kevin,
Meditation might help! There are many good things in life that require patience (not something many of us Americans have, for sure) like closing on a new house or anticipating a vacation trip or even waiting for a child (especially that first one) to be born.
If it were a persons first kilt, then I would suggest that they occupy their time pulling their kilt kit together. Otherwise, I would recommend putting it out of your mind. That way it will seem to come more quickly and you will be pleasantly surprised when it does. I'm sure you've hear the term, "the watched pot never boils".
Now repeat after me "Om mani, padme hum"

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle. As it turns out, they are a bit too much of a commitment for me too. Firstly they are much harder to play than I envisaged (I play other stuff) But mainly, my unusual work pattern doesn't allow for formal tuition and my children's needs and priorities don't enable much time to practice, so I wouldn't exactly describe my proficiency level as "playing". I am quite nifty on the practice chanter but the pipes tend to stay in the case. I'll get round to it again when I have a bit more 'me' time I expect. Provided I can still draw breath.
