I think you would be right David. RSVPipers kilt is lovely. I guess we both know someone who could organise getting the cloth woven. I guess the question is - who else is interested in an isle of skye kilt in tweed?

Simon i don't want to rain on the parade but Frances at RedShank who made my kilt said that Donald John Mackay MBE would not be weaving anymore Isle of Skye cloth as the lady who owns the rights to Isle of Skye wants too much of a fee for it. this may have changed but then again.........

In that case Andy if you could expand your kilt by a foot or more I will buy it off you.

Might be worth checking if we get enough people who want one, then the cost could be spread.

What do you think? Diamonds? Emeralds? Gold? Pearls? Three weeks in Paris? World cruise? All of those? Oh I can see that this madness will most certainly have to be paid for-----------and how!

Lol I think with our recent holiday to Canada I might have saved up a few brownie points. Although some heavy hints have been made about some jewellery for birthday and Christmas. A mans work is never done!

Oh a weathered lochaber is definitely on the horizon Colin. The truth is that I wanted a kilt that I could wear more casually, a walking kilt, a kilt that should it get a bit dirty or a bit of beer down it, I wouldn't overly fret. I know that I could do any of these in my COE or Taylor but I wouldn't want to spoil those kilts. Mind you I wouldn't want to spoil the IOS. Colour wise it is also darker than the Taylor, lighter in weight as its only a five yarder as opposed to nearly 9 yds in the COE. The fabric is from MM Jura so its also teflon coated thus minimising any likely stains or spills.

Finally and perhaps more importantly its a beautiful tartan. I will always be a Taylor-Cameron and my sept and Clan kilt will have pride of place in my wardrobe.

To put it another way, I will always love steak, but sometimes I like a nice piece of fish.
