    What the doctor said

I took my daughter to the doctor today to have her stitches removed.

He asked what tartan my kilt was, I said Stewart Hunting and then he said it looked very much like the tartan he wore in Africa with the Pretoria Highlanders.

He was right, it is the tartan they wear.

    I thought than was interesting!

Here is a good list of regimental tartans

    Pretoria Highlanders...

South Africa has a long Scottish military tradition in it's armed forces. The Witwatersrand Rifles, the Transvaal Scottish, Pretoria Highlanders, and the Cape Town Highlanders are still around today as militia battalions in the SADF. The CTH has a particularly good web site at:

    Graham,

How's Tabitha doing? I hope she's doing better. She did look pretty happy in the picture you posted (which finally answered the box pleat question for me.)

PS - Hunting Stewart rules, if only because of DUNCAN!!

    Graham,

Glad to hear that the doctor is well educated even above and beyond medicine. The information that comes thru on these threads is amazing, all great sites.

I also want to know how Tabitha is doing, what a sweet looking lass she is in spite of her Father

Rufus I also apprecite Duncan because he is from Monarch of the Glen
    Glen McGuire

Yeah Graham good to see her smiling, happy and healthy, what a looker, bet you're glad no.2 son is my side of world... Obviously takes after her mother, although they do say it takes an ugly bull to make a good looking calf, I've heard that one more than once.
    Cheers Rhino

Hope things are better with your daughter. Her and your family are still in thoughts and prayers.

Also, thanks for the info on the tartan. I find myself wearing my 'tartans' more than camo's recently. Now I can tell people more about it than tartan name and that it's Duncan's tartan.

Thanks for all your concern for Tabitha, she is much improved, we have found a Christian counsellor who is going to spend some time with her, in fact we are going there tonight. We'll see if we can get Tab to communicate more, feel better about herself etc.

There are too many pressures on young people today, and you know I think that fashion magazines are much to blame.

We all here are those who refuse to fit into fashon moulds (trousers) and have the confidence to break free from it.
Young girls become trapped into what they feel they should look like in terms of hairstyles, body weight, clothes, makeup.

    Kids don't need that.

Sorry, this should be in off topic!

That's ok Graham. I hope she comes to realize following the herd isn't the best way to go and she should be her own person. In the long run that gains one far more respect than trying to be like everyone else.

Graham, just echoing what others have said. Glad that things are improving for you and your family.
