Looking forward to the day Alan. Whilst it is very pleasing to see anyone nicely turned out, please don't get too carried away on our behalf! As long as you are wearing something would be nice and when all said and done its the person inside the attire is of more interest to me.

Its 0500 Hrs here and I am sat in someone else's kitchen waiting for the kettle to boil to make Mrs Jock a cup of tea. We are away for a couple of days grouse shooting so I have little time for serious matters like your new shoes, but rest assured I will face the dawn with confidence knowing that when the great day comes for us to eventually meet, we won't be seeing the holes in your socks through the cracks in your shoes!

Those shoes are going to be teamed up with hand-knit hose or at the least , quite substantial wool hose. The athletic sox are for wearing with turf shoes while throwing!

Those are some great looking shoes. Just the kind I have been looking for but have been unable to find at a price like that. My quest continues though with a bit more confidence in the possibility of an eventually successful outcome. Thanks!

Personally I'm glad to read that wing-tips are acceptable kilt shoes as my favorite pair of shoes are my Allen Edmonds McAllisters:

I plan to get other shoes at some point after I get my first kilt but as picky as I am I know it'll be something I have to save up for lol...At least now I know I can get dressier with what I have and worry about something for casual kilt days since I expect I don't need to spend Allen Edmonds money on casual. (Although I would if I could).

I think that having a personal style means that you don't have to really think too much about what you wear. You know what fits you and what looks good on you, and a quick glance in the mirror to make sure your trousers aren't on backward is usually enough.

More often than not I wear toe shoes, corduroy pants and a sweater vest. That's my personal style. It's not everyone's cup o' tea, but it's my thing so I don't really care.

I think you've developed your own style without thinking about it, Alan. Don't gag, it's not a bad thing! (And those shoes are great! Well done.)
