4).Price, service, durability, ease of care.

As for wool, if it's not quality wool that feels good and holds the pleats without sewing them, I would rather have Poly vis. I've yet to see quality wool for that price.

I have a very limited experience buying kilts. I have to rely on you guys! I own a Bearkilt in PV. And I'm soon to order a USAKilt in PV. They are just too easy to take care of!

You never will see quality wool for that price. Poly vis. (contrary to some opinions,) is a worthy economical substitute.

Interesting topic Jimmy.

1. Either a Bear kilt or USAK because they are both quality makers with an excellent tartan selection to choose from. USAK also has the victory kilt for a more modern look and Bear carries several solid colors as well as tartan.

2. Tartan for out and about, solid more for work wear.

3.Poly Vis though USAK does have some tartans that are other materials.

4.When it comes to wool kilts I have fallen in love with the 8/9 yard heavyweight kilts that except for replacing my medium weight casual, I would be really hard pressed to purchase a wool kilt that was anything other than a traditional heavyweight. I have no problem purchasing kilts in other materials and yardage for activities that I would not normally wear my wool kilt.

Okay Jimmy, I'll bite. Trust me, I've done some serious browsing, and I haven't found this $150 kilt you mention. So, come on, give a brother a break and let me in on the secret.

Yes it does. But, remember, us Canadians have to add on the duty. (Black Watch for me!)

I did find some wool kilts on sale for 150 CAD at Burnett's & Struth, here in Ontario. Nothing in my size. Others may want to check this out.
