    Tasmanian adventures

I just returned from a week or so in our southern island state, and had a few photos of my new Paul Henry kilt in Manx Blue to share.

Firstly at the top of Mount Wellington, amidst snow drifts and 100 km/h winds

    Then off to Port Arthur....

You'll have to excuse the blue hose and garters, I was planning on wearing my black watch until a coffee incident prevented me from doing so...

Then for Dr McLane's (my father-in-law's) birthday, a touch more formal....

    Nice looking kilt.

Sounds like you had a good time. Since you are still in your winter, how was the weather overall for your trip?

Not too bad, about 12-15 degrees Celsius, with intermittent rain. It was good weather for whisky and dark ale, which suited me fine.

Great shots Manxstralian. I love going to Tassie. And a great time of year to wear a nice woollen kilt!

Cameron: Nice pics - rugged country. And that lovely kilt fits right it. I particularly like your choice of hose and flashes, ... yes, even the blue ones. Thanks for posting/sharing.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

    Thanks John,
I spent the time between ordering and receiving my kilt getting the accessories organised. I especially like the burgundy with yellow flashes combo, I think it brings a nice contrast to the tartan.

It was lovely, I've never been that far south before. I ended up driving up the Hartz mountain on the way back to Hobart and had a wander through the snow. And I finally got some photos of the kilt, which are long overdue... Did you notice I took your advice on hose colour? The darker reds work well, much better than I would have thought.

    Cheers.
