    I make as much of my gear as I can. Breechclouts are simple, just a strip of cloth. Mocs and Leggings aren't much more complicated. As far as I can tell from my reading, the biggest difference between the cuarans, or bog shoes and eastern center seam moccasins is that the cuarans lack the flaps on the sides. In a pinch, I've worn the eastern center seams, and just tucked the flaps in. A few years back, when I was more active (had more time) I used to brain tan my own buckskin. Don't seem to have the time to do as much anymore. Now that the grandkids are getting older, the hawk block in the backyard doesn't see much use . The neighbors have almost completely lost their twitches.
