    Disqualified for wearing kilt

Interesting little piece in today's Herald - http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/h...-kilt.21981687

Thanks for sharing, Phil. Well, if the the kilt was indeed a "tank," then I'm quite sure it would add just a wee bit of weight to Mr. Dolan!

I don't think it is fair to say that he was disqualified for "wearing a kilt". He was disqualified for being over the weight limit, and could have resolved the problem by allowing himself to be weighed without it. I've heard of people being asked to remove shorts for the same reason.

Does he wear his kilt while wrestling? Wonder if there is a rule like this:
In US youth football leagues the boys are required to wear exactly what they wear in the game for registered game day weigh ins.

According to the article they compete in kilts so it sounds like unless he changed into something lighter he couldn't compete.

Sounds like a job for a SportKilt, which is much lighter.

Happy ending, if you read through the article, he competed instead in the open weights contest and won!
