Watch cap with diced band -

I somehow got on the mailing list for the Gaelsong catalog. I was flipping through it before chucking it in the rubbish bin, and saw a watch cap with red and white dicing on the band.

In a humorous bit of irony, the web page refers to it as an Irish hat, although their description seems to suggest that they know it is of Scottish origin and manufacture:

Glengarry Cap & Scarf The distinctive "diced" pattern of the Glengarry cap accents this warm watch cap and scarf in dark navy blue with red, white and navy trim. Soft merino wool for luxurious comfort. Knit cap is one size, stretches to fit most. Scarf measures 10" x 74". Pure merino wool; hand wash. Made in Scotland.

It's certainly not "traditional", which is why I posted it here in the contemporary forum. But it at least gives a nod to tradition, for those of you who might be inclined. Watch caps seem to be very popular for the younger crowd (I only wear them when doing barn chores in sub-freezing weather). Just thought it was worth pointing out, in case there was any interest.

The price is $45, although it appears they are currently out of stock.
