Hello everyone,

I've been so excited to share some pictures of my wedding on October 5th. It's going to be a while before our photographer gets us all our photos, but he sent us this one to tide us over.

I've wanted a kilt since I was very young. My Mother's maiden name was Kennedy (The poor protestant Scottish Kennedy's, not the rich Irish Catholic Kennedy's ;) so I had a Kennedy Tartan kilt made for my wedding. As a big guy, it was 11 yards of fabric but was a joy to wear! My kilt was made by Linda Lee at Creativelee done near Detroit. She was a real joy to work with. We also went a tad casual wearing a charcoal braemer cuffed Argyle jacket and waist coat from USA Kilts rather than a Prince Charlie. My groomsmen wore grey suits so we all looked great together. I did wear a fly plaid as it was my wedding and I like the look, however I do agree that it's weight does become troublesome after awhile, my bride loved it though. It's hard to see but the buttons on my jacket are filled with celtic swirls reminiscent of the ones found in the Book of Kells. We used those swirls liberally in our wedding design and my kilt pin was a swirl as well. I spent some time in Ireland near the town of Kells when I was in High School and the Book of Kells holds a special place for me. USA Kilts also supplied me with a pair of hand knit Argyle hose in the Kennedy Tartan colors, which fit my large calves perfectly. ;) My Sporran was made by Donnie at Wyvern Leatherworks, and my Sgian Dubh was made by myself from pieces bought from Rab Gordan. I did wear a belt even with the waist coat as it was more comfortable to wear sporran hangers also supplied by Donnie and given as a wedding gift (such a great guy!). Since I tend to wear boots all the time my bride requested that I wear a pair of wingtip boots rather than traditional brogues and I found a pair of Dr Marten wingtip boots in patent leather that just looked smashing and were very comfortable.

Anyway enough of my yappin, here is my lovely Bride, Heather, and I.
