New S.A.M.S. member
I just wanted say my second son joined the local S.A.M.S. chapter this past weekend at our local Celtic Celebration. He has taken a real interest in his heritage. He served in the Army for 4 years and is completing his reserve requirements in the National Guard. He is in his second year of Electrical Engineering program at the University of Nevada. I am a very proud parent. We purchased his first kilt for him at Christmas and got him a second for his birthday this past September. He enjoys wearing them to classes and sporting events, but because of work rules he can't wear them to work.

My third son is still active duty, on his second tour in Afghanistan. He is looking forward to coming home and trying out the kilt culture himself.
My oldest son has no interest in S.A.M.S. and "doesn't get the whole kilt thing". I still love and cherish and I am very proud that all three boys have served their country.

I would love to congratulate you (and do!) but the world outside of the Excited States has no idea what your various acronyms mean. What is S.A.M.S.?

There is a SAMS group in the community section of XMarks, as well. Members/veterans of Commonwealth nations militaries as well as US military are eligible to join.
