New Kilt on the Blog, from fairly far north
Greetings fellow kiltfolk
I'm a 'Finlander from Yorkshire' – born in Yorkshire, but I've lived in Finland for over 4 decades. My wife gave me my first kilt (an Amerikilt) as a quirky Christmas present some 5 years ago; I loved wearing it, and when I retired (from university teaching) at Midsummer 2012, I switched to wearing a kilt every day, except when there are specific reasons to put my legs into tubes again (for example, when I need to wear a suit).
I now have about half a dozen kilts, all 'modern', i.e. non-tartan, non-Scottish, non-woollen, and with Pockets. (I do not like using a sporran, and the sporran that came with the Amerikilt is now sewn on at the side where a pocket should be.) I'd like to write a series of posts commenting on the good and less good features of each design, and will be posting immediately on the seeking-advice page about trying to track down a woollen kilt for the impending Finnish winter *with pockets*.
I look forward to kiltchat with fellow kiltfolk.

Welcome from sunny Florida - it's 87 degrees Fahrenheit outside my window. I can barely imagine needing anything "for winter". ;-)
Looking forward to your reviews and comments.
